Cotopaxi, a B Corp brand, announced that it has opened its newest store in Boston, marking the company’s first retail space on the East Coast.
“Boston is an active outdoor market that we’re excited to now be a part of,” said Brad Hiranaga, chief brand officer. “Boston is a gateway to some unique recreational opportunities in the Northeast, and with 64 colleges and universities in the Boston area, this market provides a great opportunity for us to connect with the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.”
Located in the heart of Newbury Street, the store was originally a 19th-century schoolhouse before retail.
“Our focus was to keep the existing floor layout and finishes, maintaining an open concept,” said Matt Kempf, lead architect from BRR Architecture. “Our team enjoyed working with Cotopaxi to incorporate their branding throughout the store design while maintaining the unique characteristics of the building and neighborhood.”
