Costco June Comps Climb 6.0%

Costco Wholesale Corporation reported net sales of $4.64 billion for the five weeks ended July 4, 2004, an increase of 9 percent from $4.28 billion in the same five-week period of the prior fiscal year.
This year's five-week period included 33 days of sales compared to 34
days for the comparable five-week period last year, reflecting the
timing of Memorial Day. This calendar shift negatively impacted
reported net sales and comparable sales by approximately 3 percent.

For the first 44 weeks of its 2004 fiscal year ended July 4, 2004,
the Company reported net sales of $39.79 billion, an increase of 14
percent from $34.95 billion during the similar 44-week period of the
prior fiscal year.

Comparable sales for the 5-week and 44-week periods ended July 4,
2004, were as follows:
