The results of Sport Chalet, Inc.’s fiscal quarter results were incorrectly reported in last week’s review of industry retail results for the period ended May 1. The Sport Chalet results reported in the chart were for the year ended March 29 instead of the fourth quarter. Sport Chalet reported a 6.8% increase in fiscal fourth quarter revenues to $90.2 million.
Comps were up 5.7% for the period. The net loss for the period was reduced to $278,000, or a loss of 2 cents per diluted share. Gross margins improved 790 basis points to 27.7% of sales. The Q4 results has a significant upside impact on the overall results for the retail market and the sporting goods channel specifically.
