WRKOUT, the Toronto-based connected fitness platform, appointed seven members to its Board of Directors: Peter Mogan, Dave Bustos, Erik Huberman, Bill Bradford, Curtis Christopherson, Keith Dalton, and Haley Grewal.
WRKOUT said the board’s collective experience spans various sectors and industries, including fitness, tech, marketing, digital advertising, business development, and consumer engagement.
“The level of enthusiasm, leadership and brilliance brought to this board is undeniable and we’re in the best position possible to expand aggressively and reach a wider, more global audience,” said Curtis Christopherson, Founder, WRKOUT. “We’ve brought together some of the best minds in their respective industries to provide critical insights, guidance and expertise as WRKOUT continues to build momentum and carve out its own corner of the fitness industry.”
The seven directors are:
- Peter Mogan, Chair of the Board and Founder of MDS Lawyers, has been active as a lawyer, corporate director, businessman, and mediator in BC and Ontario since 1978. He has had a long career as a commercial lawyer and is considered one of Western Canada’s leading M&A specialists.
- Dave Bustos, managing partner, Fort Capital Partners. Prior to founding Fort Capital in 2014, Bustos spent 23 years as an investment banker in roles from analyst to managing director with national and international firms in Vancouver, Toronto and New York.
- Erik Huberman, founder and CEO, Hawke Media, a marketing consultancy agency in the U.S. Founded in 2014 the business has a valuation of over $100 million. Huberman also founded, grew and sold two e-commerce companies by the age of 26.
- Bill Bradford, chief business officer, Advanced Human Imaging. Bradford, a seasoned industry executive, has held leadership roles in digital media and technology and executive leadership positions at Beachbody, Fox, Yahoo!, and America Online.
- Curtis Christopherson, founder and CEO, Innovative Fitness and founder, WRKOUT. Christopherson has over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry.
- Keith Dalton is the founder of Signal Hill Technologies. He is also the founder/owner of multiple businesses including Innovative Fitness and serves as the CEO of the virtual inspection software platform in the telecom industry.
- Haley Grewal is co-founder of Upstation Inc., a financial strategy consulting firm focused on startups, with partners in Seattle, WA and San Franciso, CA.
Launched last February, WRKOUT delivers two-way fitness instruction and interaction between TRNRS (trainers) and MOVRS (clients) on a platform that is designed for working out. It has provided “more than 75,000 personal training and fitness sessions since it launched,” said the company.
