Confluence will consolidate all operations, sales, marketing, finance, and manufacturing into the Easley, South Carolina facility recently acquired from Watermark. As a result, Confluence will cease operation and close its Trinity facility on or about August 19th, 2005. The closure of the facility affects about 120 employees, who were notified of these plans on Thursday.
Confluence management was not available for comment, but in a press release Rich Feehan, Confluence CEO, said, “After extensive review, which evaluated the total operations, it became apparent that consolidating into the Easley facility was the best option for the company to grow and capitalize on the acquisition.”
The move to Easley coincides with the previously announced termination of the service agreement between Yakima Products and Confluence, which concludes at the end of August. Confluence will be moving its manufacturing from Trinity to Easley as well as all customer service and IT operations from Arcata to Easley.
The affected employees were also informed that Confluence is accepting applications for employment opportunities in manufacturing and support positions in Easley. The two locations are roughly three hours apart. Both locations provide access to similar pools of labor and executive talent with Trinity pulling from the Greensboro, NC metro area and Easley pulling from the Greenville, SC metro area.
Easley does have one major advantage over Trinity-easy access to all types of watersports with the Green River, and the Saluda within minutes and the Low Country of South Carolina within a few hours drive.
>>> The B.O.S.S. Reports offices are located right between Trinity and Easley, and if we had to choose, wed rather be in Easley too…
