Confluence Outdoor has hired Ben Lawry as National Technical Instructor to enhance the company’s training and education program for retailers and the paddling public.  Lawry, who is highly regarded in the paddlesports community, comes to Confluence with over 25 years of experience as an educator in all paddlesport disciplines.

In March, Confluence will be launching a new training program to provide in-depth product knowledge, sales skills and confidence to paddlesports retail staff.  Lawry’s breadth of experience-as a paddlesports instructor, retail sales representative in the paddling industry, and brand ambassador for top paddlesports brands-will be a crucial asset in driving the effectiveness of the program.

“We are thrilled to be taking our training and education program to the next level as we know how essential it is for our retailer’s success and consumers’ enjoyment of the sport,” said Shelly Moore, V.P. of Sales for Confluence. “Ben Lawry will be a wonderful addition to the Confluence family. He has a lifetime of experience both on the water and in the watersports industry, and his passion for education makes him a perfect fit for this role.”

Lawry will be on hand at upcoming retailer events this spring including Canoecopia and Jersey Paddler, where he will be educating on a range of topics from “Forward Stroke” to “How to Buy a Kayak and Essential Gear”.

Confluence Outdoor owns Wilderness Systems, Perception, Dagger, and Wave Sport kayaks, Mad River Canoe, Adventure Technology paddles, Bomber Gear and Harmony accessories, and Boardworks, a surf and stand-up paddleboard manufacturer it acquired earlier this month.
