Columbia Sportswear reported on Friday that 2,900 imitation Columbia Sportswear jackets were destroyed in Holland after a lengthy legal process in Dutch courts. The jackets were originally seized in November at the Port of Rotterdam enroute to Germany from Hong Kong.

COLM said the product had the label “Solumbia” and featuring a simulation of the well-known “Columbia diamond” trademark.

The goods were impounded under European Union anti-piracy regulations and destroyed under customs surveillance. Columbia Sportswear will pursue civil and criminal sanctions, with the assistance of Dutch authorities, against the responsible parties.
