Columbia is continuing its company-wide effort to stop counterfeit products from making their way to market with another raid of a group of factories in the cities of Jinjiang and Shishi, which are in the Fujian province in China. The company teamed up with Chinese authorities to seize more than 8,100 jackets and pants in several designs. A large number of counterfeit labels were also seized in the raid, and Columbia has asked Chinese authorities to pursue criminal charges.

Columbia Sportswear has been on an aggressive campaign to stop counterfeiting its products, and the company has reported the seizure of over 17,000 pieces of fake Columbia product, and over 160,000 fake Columbia labels. This most recent raid has been by far the largest, nearly doubling the total product seizure count.

“Counterfeiters continue to produce copies of Columbia's product and get caught,” said Tim Boyle, president and CEO of Columbia. “We have stepped up our campaign to stop counterfeits at the source — which means working with authorities to raid, seize, and destroy product while prosecuting counterfeiters to the full extent of the law.”
