The Conservation Alliance welcomed College Outside, a connection between the outdoor industry and the college demographic, as its newest member. More than 200 collegiate outdoor groups use College Outside’s retail site to purchase gear for their programs, leaders and members.
“Our goal is to support these college outdoor programs and increase participation in the outdoors.” said Sarah Lockwood, founder of College Outside. “We feel a strong responsibility to the students we work with and to places we love to play, so this partnership is a natural fit for us.”
The partnership will help support The Conservation Alliance’s efforts to fund conservation organizations working to protect North America’s last wild spaces. Though the support of member companies, the organization has helped protect 50 million acres, 2,991 river miles, removed or halted 29 dams, purchased 12 climbing areas and designated five marine reserves.
“We are proud and honored to welcome College Outside to The Conservation Alliance,” said John Sterling, executive director of The Conservation Alliance.
