Cleveland Golf has sold FIDRA, the golf apparel company formerly owned by Quiksilver, Inc., to Goodtimes International Co., Ltd., which has since changed names to FIDRA Co., Ltd.  Quiksilver entered the golf apparel business in 2001 after purchasing the FIDRA brand from its originator, John Ashworth. FIDRA, a fashion-forward, performance golf apparel brand, derived its name from FIDRA Island in Scotland, the birthplace of golf.  Early in the company's history, FIDRA was worn by the likes of PGA players Ernie Els and Zach Johnson and has continued to experience significant growth in tour popularity, most recently as the apparel of choice for players such as Boo Weekley, Joe Durant and Jerry Kelly on the PGA TOUR and a number of players on the Nationwide Tour.

“We plan to start by putting together our resources and efforts on the current Japanese business,” said Kenji Adachi, President of FIDRA. “At the same time, we'll continue looking for foreign partners to keep the global presence of this fantastic golf apparel brand.”
