City Sports named Jeff Connor as president and Sean Scales as chief operating officer. Connor is just the 2nd president in the company’s 24 year history. Connor is replacing co-founder and President Eric Martin who passed away in September due to illness.  The new appointments will be effective immediately.  Both Connor and Scales will join Founder and Chief Executive Officer Mike Kennedy in front office duties.

Mr. Connor and Mr. Scales have been with City Sports for a combined 32 years, starting out as sales associates in the retail shops. Through the years both have progressed from sales associates to buyers and for the past two years they have served as Vice Presidents.

Mike Kennedy, Founder and CEO commented: “Jeff and Sean have been functioning in these roles for awhile now. They are smart guys with a lot of experience. These title changes are a confirmation of my confidence in them and our entire management team.”

Jeff Connor, 40, on succeeding President Eric Martin: “I have been with City Sports for 18 years and am honored to be named the successor to Eric Martin.  Eric was a good friend and mentor. He has taught me a great deal about the business and I’m confident that I will continue to lead City Sports with same success as he did.”

Connor also added, “Both Sean and I hope to build upon the foundation that has been created by both Mike and Eric over the past 24 years.”

Sean Scales, 35, Chief Operating Officer: “I am confident that the transition to COO will be a smooth one. I have served City Sports in numerous capacities over the past 14 years and feel that has prepared me well for this tremendous opportunity.”
