Chums, a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of eyewear retainers, outdoor accessories and apparel, recently welcomed Andrew D’Acquisto as its new national sales manager. D’Acquisto brings 20 years of outdoor industry sales and retail experience to the role, where he will manage the wholesale division for Chums and Beyond Coastal Sun Care.

D’Acquisto joins Chums having served most recently as the North American sales manager for Gregory Mountain Products, where he oversaw the adventure brand’s U.S. and Canadian sales force. In addition to having fostered relationships with a wide network of sales representatives over the years, D’Acquisto brings a strong background in buying and inventory analysis, having spent significant time working as a buyer for Durango Mountain Resort in Colorado and Sports Basement in California.

“Drew brings extensive brand experience as a sales manager, buyer and general manager to our Sales Team,” said Mike Neary, Vice President of Sales at Chums and Beyond Coastal. “His background will prove instrumental in strengthening relationships with our retailers as well as analyzing internal and industry sale trends. He’s a natural fit for Chums given his enthusiasm for outdoor adventure and his expertise in the industry.”

Accompanying his experience working for outdoor brands and in the retail space, D’Acquisto also spent five years as a senior guide and field manager with Open Sky Wilderness Therapy, providing instruction in primitive wilderness skills, backcountry camping, navigation and Leave No Trace. He’s a certified ski technician and Master Boot Fitter and has received First Responder, Wilderness First Aid, Crevasse Rescue and Winter Survival trainings.

“I’ve been a huge fan of Chums eyewear retainers and accessories since I entered the outdoor industry,” said D’Acquisto. “I’m thrilled to join a team dedicated to designing quality gear and products, many of them manufactured right here in the U.S, and I look forward to growing our sales network as Chums expands into a major lifestyle brand.”
