Chandler Bats announced the acquisition of custom baseball glove manufacturer Emery Glove Co., benefiting both companies with product diversification and increased opportunity for customer crossover.
Terms were not disclosed.
Chandler Bats, based in Port St. Lucie, FL, was founded in 2009 and acquired by former MLB All-Star Yoenis Céspedes’ YC52, LLC in 2019 to drive expansion. Emery Glove, based in Lawrenceville, NJ, was founded in 2021 by Kevin Schneider, a former college baseball coach and pitcher for Monmouth University, and his brother, the Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Emery Glove Co. athlete and Cincinnati pitcher Chase Petty will join the Chandler Bats company as part of the brand addition. Two-time All-Star and Philadelphia outfielder Nick Castellanos, a Chandler ambassador, will also serve as an Emery Glove Co. athlete.
“Chandler’s goal is to give consumers high-quality products that are customized to their individual needs, so bringing Emery Glove Co. into our baseball portfolio, who has the same mission, was a no-brainer,” said Céspedes. “We are excited to diversify our product capabilities for Chandler customers and vice-versa for Emery Glove Co. loyalists.”
“Adding Emery Glove Co. to the Chandler Bats family brings both brands to a new level that we could not be more thrilled to enter,” said Ben Chase, CEO of Chandler Bats. “These two different but unquestionably intertwined products, along with the combined experience of both leadership teams, make us confident in the future of both brands.”
“We are absolutely thrilled and humbled to announce our merger with Chandler,” said Schneider, founder of Emery Glove. “Chandler is the industry leader in wood bats, the gold standard. This merger allows us to be the same with fielding gloves.”
