Champs Sports reopened two stores in the retailer’s key markets—Brandon Exchange in Tampa, FL, and Washington Square in Portland, OR. The modernized storefronts feature a broad selection of multi-brand apparel, footwear and accessories, with flexible interior layouts to enable easy merchandising changes.
Tony Aversa, senior vice president and general manager of Champs Sports, said, “The reimagined store concept redefines what the Champs Sports in-store shopping experience can be, enhancing every step of the customer journey. Tampa and Portland are dynamic markets, making them ideal locations to unveil a new store experience that reflects our brand ethos. The concept also strengthens our “Sport For Life” brand platform to connect sport to life in an innovative way that continues to engage with the communities we serve.”
The Brandon Exchange store is located near St. Petersburg, FL, where Foot Locker, Inc., the parent company of Champ Sports, will have its new global headquarters. The Washington Square location is reported to have a strong sneaker culture.
Champs Sports will host a grand opening in partnership with Nike at the Brandon Exchange store from July 26-27; similarly, the Washington Square store will host its grand opening from August 9-10.
The new Champs Sports reimagined store concept underscores Foot Locker, Inc.’s progress on its Lace Up Plan to “Power Up the Portfolio,“ following the eight Foot Locker Reimagined stores that opened globally across North America, Europe and Asia over the past year.
