Mario Pilozzi, President and CEO of Wal-Mart
Canada, will be inducted into the Canadian Retail Hall of Fame this June at
STORE 2004 – Canada's Retail Conference. The Canadian Retail Hall of Fame was
established by Retail Council of Canada (RCC) to recognize merchants who have
demonstrated leadership in advancing retail as a career, and who have
supported lifelong learning in retail.

Mr. Pilozzi will receive his award at the Canadian Retail Hall of Fame
luncheon on June 8, 2004 at 1:30 pm. The luncheon is part of STORE 2004,
taking place at the Toronto Congress Centre on June 7-8, 2004 and will also
honour 10 students pursuing careers in retail with scholarships of $1,000
each.

“This honour is a testament to Mario Pilozzi's distinguished career and
ongoing commitment to promoting the Canadian retail industry,” says Diane J.
Brisebois, President and CEO of RCC. “Throughout his career and regardless of
the positions he held during that time, Mr. Pilozzi supported and participated
in countless endeavours to promote and encourage entrepreneurship, continuing
education, and retail as a career. There is no question that many
organizations in Canada have benefited from his corporate support, but what
stands out are the glowing comments about the amount of time he personally
dedicates to assisting these programs and Canadian youth.”

Mario Pilozzi's career spans more than 40 years in the Canadian retail
industry. He joined Wal-Mart Canada in 1994 as Vice-President of Hardline
Merchandise and was promoted to Senior Vice-President of Merchandise and Sales
in 1996. In September, 2000, he was appointed to head Wal-Mart's Canadian
operation as Chief Operating Officer, and in January, 2002, he was promoted to
President and CEO.

Prior to joining Wal-Mart Canada, Mr. Pilozzi held a broad range of
positions with Woolworth Canada spanning more than 30 years. Positions
included Vice-President of Hardline Merchandise; Administrator of Store
Openings; District Manager; Store Manager; and several other key roles in
Woolworth's variety and discount-store divisions.

In January 2000, Mr. Pilozzi received the Sam M. Walton Entrepreneur of
the Year Award, the highest honour awarded at Wal-Mart throughout the world.
The award recognizes outstanding retail leadership that exemplifies the
legendary entrepreneur spirit of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton. He is the first
Canadian to be so honoured.

Mr. Pilozzi is the Honourary Chairperson of the Canadian Branch of the
Children's Miracle Network (CMN) and was recently appointed to CMN's Board of
Trustees. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Ryerson University's School
of Retail Management, a sponsor and participant in ACE's Campus Enterprise
Challenge, and a member of the Board of Directors of Retail Council of Canada.

Past Canadian Retail Hall of Fame inductees include Garth Mitchell,
former President of Mark's Work Wearhouse Limited (2003); William R. Turner,
