We are currently seeking a Fall and Spring Category Marketing Managers within our Russell Athletic Team Sports Division in Atlanta, Georgia.
CATEGORY MARKETING MANAGER
In this role you will identify, develop and implement strategic marketing & product opportunities for the profitable growth within Russell Athletic Team Sports (Uniforms & Athletic Apparel). This role will:
- Oversee the development of category strategies and plans which will result in enhancing the overall consumer/customer perception of the brand and grow team dealer share.
- Develop a strong understanding of the channels of distribution for this product — from key institutional customers to small team dealers.
- Develop strategic business plans to drive sales and profit as they relate to the stated category.
- Research against and define strategy consistent with target consumer and overall marketing objectives.
- Determine category/product segmentation optimizing both resource and sales opportunities.
- Interpret and understand consumer dynamics predict shifts and react to trends.
- Benchmark competitor product/strategy and analyze sales trends to enable fact-based decision-making.
- Segment product according to category customer/consumer needs.
- Ensure that category/product/marketing strategy is effectively communicated to sales force, product development & other functions and to support achievement of sales targets.
- Effectively communicate with counterparts in other product/marketing roles to ensure integrated approach to category.
- Develop strategic marketing brief to lead development of product line plan within product development.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree, MBA Preferred
- 5-7 years of marketing, apparel merchandising, category or brand management experience
- Proven affinity for target category
- Passion for category and team sports
- Insatiable curiosity about learning and mastering the business
- Desire to WIN.
