Catalyst Communication announced that Lynn Guissinger has been named president of the company.  Catalyst also announced that it has hired industry veteran, Mercedes Ross, to work with bicycle retailers.

Catalyst's president and founder, Leslie Bohm, died August 20 at home, due to brain cancer. “Through Leslie's final battle with cancer, our Catalyst team has maintained our high-quality production, and is moving us into new industries and products. I know people are wondering about Catalyst without Leslie.  We are staying the course, moving forward.” said Gregg Thayer, national sales manager. “Lynn has been very involved in the¡company for many years. She knows the industry, and she thinks strategically.”

“Mercedes brings us a deep knowledge of the bicycle industry and retailers' needs. You may know of her as the merchandising magician for the bike industry, and we are also excited about her 25 years of experience in a wide range of industries: bike, ski, outdoor and motorcycle. Her enthusiasm and love for out-of-the-box thinking will encourage retailers to stay inspired about their marketing efforts and how they tie back to the retail experience of their customers.”

In addition to nearly 30 years in the bicycle industry, Catalyst is just completing a full decade creating successful direct marketing programs in the outdoor industry. Catalyst has been designing and producing custom direct mail for retailers and suppliers in¡the snow sports industry for three years, and has just successfully launched new offerings in the running business.

Catalyst's assembled team brings decades of experience in marketing for bicycle and outdoor retailers. Gregg Thayer, National Sales Manager, brings four decades of experience in marketing and sales in bicycle and outdoor retail, including two full decades at Catalyst. Greg Mears, Outdoor Sales, has managed our Outdoor Guide and Snow Sports programs for more than seven years, and has worked in the outdoor industry since 1999. Theresa Regnier, Production Manager, has been purchasing and managing print and rental/house lists for over 20 years. Last month, she celebrated ten years at Catalyst.  Beth Prehn, Manufacturer Account Manager, and Kristal Boni, Lead Designer, bring experience from Nike, REI and others in the industry and together have well over a decade at Catalyst.

Before working with Catalyst, Lynn clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, practiced law at Holland & Hart (a major regional and national law firm), and taught at the University of Colorado School of Law.

“Our sons and I, and the whole Catalyst team, are deeply grieving Leslie,” Lynn Guissinger said. “Leslie's are big shoes to fill, especially in the bicycle industry. But, we have a strong team, and they are helping us attract new customers and design new products. We are ready to help our clients put together a year-round plan that includes customized direct marketing, built into a systematic “touch” to their best clients.”

Catalyst (www.catacom.com) is a 26 year-old marketing firm dedicated to helping locally-based specialty outdoor and cycling retailers partner with their vendors to produce affordable world-class direct marketing.
