Carver Skateboards has hired Dave Root as its president. Root was previously general manager for Absolute Board Co. and brings with him two decades of industry experience and process implementation having helped to manage skate hardgoods brands Penny, Z-Flex and Arbor Skateboards.
Founder and CEO Neil Carver has transitioned the daily operations to Root and is now focused on innovation for the brand with partner Greg Falk.
Carver Skateboards’s statement read, “As the original pioneer of the Surfskate category, Carver has been at the forefront of the explosion in demand for Surfskates throughout the pandemic bubble. Although the brand benefited from a serious bounce due to the pandemic, domestic and international growth had been steadily accelerating prior to the pandemic and currently shows no signs of slowing down at all. We are excited to have Dave’s support and experience as we build our business and company culture around this dedicated brand.”
“I feel honored and energized to join such an innovative company at this point in its trajectory,” said Root. “Carver has an unreal team in place and has earned every ounce of its reputation for quality, vision and commitment to this industry. Today we are injecting as much passion and vision into Carver’s back-end operations as this team has poured into product design and craftsman quality throughout its 25-year history.”
