Cardo Systems, known for its Bluetooth communication systems for motorcycle, ski and cycling helmets, named Erika Gurnett as its new sales manager for Outdoor Sports in the United States and Canada.
Gurnett will be tasked with overseeing and building awareness with outdoor retail partners across the U.S. and Canada. She will work directly with specialty retail stores, buying groups, national accounts and e-commerce platforms to drive business for Cardo’s new Packtalk Outdoor Communicator, which allows wireless communication between a group of up to 15 people with a range up to three miles while they ski, bike, hike, surf, or participate in other outdoor activities.
“I love that Cardo is introducing a new category to the outdoor industry with some really groundbreaking technology and some great opportunities to add better communication into sports that we all love,” Gurnett said. “A majority of my career I’ve spent building brands and introducing new products into the market, this will be another venture into building something great!”
Gurnett will also help develop Cardo’s ambassador network and work with adaptive sports programs as well as ski schools and instructors to drive Cardo’s product across consumers and retail. She joins Cardo after spending the past three years as a U.S. Sales Manager with LeBent, an Australian company specializing in technical socks and apparel. She has worked in sales for more than a decade and is based in San Clemente, Calif.
”We are excited to see what Erika can accomplish in her new role,” said Jess Long, the sales and business development director for Outdoor, North America for Cardo. “She is a talented and driven individual who is passionate about helping us grow the outdoor business for Cardo.”
