The California company that owns Canari Cyclewear has acquired women’s cycling apparel brand Shebeest, Bicycle Retailer reported Tuesday.

Leemarc Industries did not disclose the purchase price, but a spokesman for the company confirmed the deal had been in the works for months. Veltec Sports had announced over the summer that it intended to sell Shebeest as part of its plans to wind down its operations.

Canari sells both men and women's cycling apparel, but Shebeest has gained shelf space at many retialers because women favor its colorful styles and prints and flattering cuts.
