Camber Outdoors, the national organization committed to equity in the outdoors from the boardroom to the backcountry, opened applications today for the 2019 Professional Mentoring Program. Eligible candidates must apply by October 12, 2018.

The Camber Outdoors Professional Mentoring Program is the only cross-company, cross-industry mentoring initiative in the active-outdoor industries that facilitates one-on-one learning and leadership development opportunities between manager/director-level women and executive-level women.

“Mentoring is a proven strategy for reducing turnover, increasing employee commitment and retaining great talent at companies worldwide,” said Deanne Buck, executive director of Camber Outdoors. “Mentees in our program experience significant career growth and professional success—and they contribute to the strength and vitality of our industries.”

Now in its fifth year, the Professional Mentoring Program has served more than 100 mentees and 60 mentors since its beginning. Prospective mentees must currently be employed in the active-outdoor industries, have at least three years of experience, manage direct reports and commit to a nine-month mentoring relationship.
