Cabelas Incorporated plans to break ground this spring on a 42,000-square-foot Cabelas Outpost store in Waco, TX for a fall opening. It will be the companys fourth store in Texas, joining the Fort Worth, Buda and Allen locations.

Texas is full of outdoorsmen and women who live the Cabelas lifestyle-people who share our enthusiasm for outdoor adventure-so this is a marvelous fit, said Tommy Millner, Cabelas Chief Executive Officer. Cabelas has enjoyed tremendous success in Fort Worth, Buda and Allen thanks to the support of our many loyal customers across the state. We are excited to bring the Cabelas Outpost store concept to Waco.

Cabelas Outpost stores are designed to help the retailer reach smaller markets of less than 250,000 people. They feature seasonal product assortments and a rugged, outdoor look and theme, including trophy wildlife displays.

Waco customers will have access to Cabelas merchandise via online order kiosks located throughout the store, as well as free shipping with an In-Store Pickup program. In-Store Pickup allows customers to order Cabelas gear ahead of time and pick it up at their convenience at the store of their choice.

The store is expected to employ approximately 100 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees, most coming from Waco and the surrounding area.

It will be located at Interstate 35 and Texas Loop 340 in the Central Texas Marketplace, which includes Kohls, Belk, Ross Dress For Less, Best Buy, Office Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond and Marshalls, among other businesses.

Currently, Cabelas operates 41 stores across the United States and Canada with plans to open an additional 14 by the end of 2014. The company opened its first Cabelas Outpost store in Union Gap, Wash., in October 2012. It also opened a Cabelas Outpost store in Saginaw, Mich., today.
