Executives of Buck Knives Inc. signed documents to commence construction on their new headquarters in Post Falls, Idaho, marking the first step toward moving their manufacturing facility from it's current home in El Cajon, CA.
“This is one of the most significant steps in our company's history,” said
CJ Buck, president and CEO of Buck Knives. “Everything about the
business-friendly environment in Idaho offers significant opportunities for
us to make our greatest strides forward in years.” Buck continued, “Over the
years, Lean Manufacturing has helped us increase our production capacity,
and with our new 135,000 sq ft facility, we'll be able to produce more
knives in a smaller space, and keep more jobs in America.”
A staggered transition plan is in place to ensure a smooth changeover and
seamless continuity of Buck Knives' products and service.
With initial ground breaking planned for early June, 2004, Buck Knives will
begin relocation to Post Falls early in 2005. Marketing and Sales offices
will remain in San Diego, California.
