Continuing its consolidation of the team dealer channel, BSN Sports said it had acquired Academy Sports based in Salt Lake City, UT. Academy, serving team customers since 1991, is a leading distributor of team apparel and equipment in Utah.

So far this year, BSN Sports has acquired Athlete’s World/Stadium Sports in West Texas as well as Newberry Sporting Goods in Ohio in April; Kimmel’s Athletic Supply in Pacific Northwest and Lowe’s Sporting Goods In Kentucky in March; Erie Sport Store in Pennsylvania in February; and Marlow Sports Inc. in the Mid-Atlantic
Babilla concluded, “With the addition of Academy Sports, we have added over 200 sales professionals in the last twelve months.
