Back on My Feet, a national non-profit combatting homelessness in part through the power of running, formed a new national partnership with Brooks Running. The new collaboration will provide footwear and apparel to Back on My Feet members across the country.
Operating in 12 major cities coast-to-coast, Back on My Feet recruits members from homeless facilities and begins with a commitment to run three days a week with volunteers from the local community. By committing to the running component of the program members gain access to the second phase of the program, called Next Steps, which provides educational support, job training programs, employment partnership referrals and financial aid for housing resources.
“Back on My Feet is thrilled to partner with a running brand whose mission and beliefs align so closely with ours,” said Katy Sherratt, Back on My Feet CEO. “Through our partnership with Brooks, thousands of Back on My Feet members across the country will be equipped with the best running gear on the market to tackle the road ahead.”
Brooks’ pledge to Back on my Feet is part of their larger corporate social responsibility endeavor to support organizations that inspire people to run and be active. To date, Brooks has provided more than 1,500 pairs of shoes to Back on My Feet chapters for their members. Through the new partnership, Brooks will also offer a generous donation of over $20K of free product for volunteers, donors and other VIPs associated with the organization, in addition to cold-weather gear such as hats, gloves and other accessories for members.
“We are excited to partner with Back on My Feet to inspire more people to run and be active,” said Stacey Simmons, social responsibility manager. “At Brooks we believe the run has the power to change a day, a life and even the world. With the right gear, we’re confident that more people will be able to experience the positive power of the run.”
