Nick Symmonds, one of the top  Brooks Beasts athletes, has penned an autobiography, “Life Outside the Oval Office: The Track Less Traveled.”

Symmonds debut book tells the fast-paced story of his growth from a small town, multisport student athlete to world class mid-distance runner and outspoken social advocate. According to Brooks, Symmonds peppers his evolution with off-the-track stories of romance, celebrities, political activism, a change in sponsorship and more.
 
Symmonds and publisher Cool Titles will launch the book on Oct. 21.
 
Symmonds, who will move from Eugene, Ore., to Seattle, currently holds the years fastest time in the country for the 800m distance. He has competed over 800m at the last two Olympic Games, reaching the semi-finals in Beijing 2008, while in London 2012 he finished fifth in the final, running a personal best of 1:42.95.
