New Balance is closing its Brine operations in Milford, MA, to help consolidate operations and better utilize resources within its two lacrosse divisions. Positions currently held at the Milford facility will be split between the Warrior Lacrosse location in Warren, MI, and New Balances headquarters in Brighton, MA.
Approximately 75 jobs will be affected by the move, which is slated to be completed by early Fall. Warehousing and customer service for Brine will be handled out of the Warrior facility, while R&D and brand marketing will be handled in Brighton.
The Warrior facility recently expanded its warehouse as part of an initiative to consolidate workflow. Current employees at Brines Milford offices that are not planning to make the move have been offered training and job placement assistance. Although the move was partly initiated for cost-savings reasons, Brine will also benefit from having a distribution facility located in the center of the country, as opposed to the Northeast.
