The Tannery, the Boston footwear and apparel retailer, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
The company operates The Tannery on 402 Boylston St. and an outlet at 711 Boylston St. A store in Cambridge’s Harvard Square was recently shuttered.
According to the filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts, liabilities were estimated between $1 million and $10 million.
The company’s owner is Nader Corp. and Alana Inc. and The Tannery’s president, Hicham “Sam” Ali Hassan, has not responded to calls for comment. The bankruptcy trustee is requesting court approval to sell the inventory of The Tannery Outlet Store at a public auction on July 27.
