Boathouse Sports has been selected as the official outfitter of the Ivy Rugby Conference, which includes the eight rugby teams in the Ivy League: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton and Yale. Rugby has been played among Ivy League teams since 1875 and in an annual tournament since the 1960s. The Ivy Rugby Conference™ was established this year by USA Rugby to create a governing organization for the games played between the eight Ivy League schools and to foster and improve intercollegiate competition.

“Ivy Rugby has recognized Boathouse Sports® as the supplier of choice among its teams,” said Stephen Siano, President of Ivy Rugby Conference.  “Boathouse will be supplying each team with custom designed on-field and sideline apparel by the fall of 2011.  Ivy Rugby is looking forward to working with Boathouse and providing on-field product feedback by subjecting their gear to one of the harshest environments in sport, the rugby pitch.”

Boathouse's rugby uniforms and sideline wear have already been put to the test of competition and have come out on top with Dartmouth’s recent victory at the 2011 USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championships held in June.

“It is a privilege for Boathouse to serve these clubs,” said Doug Tibbetts, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boathouse Sports. “These clubs represent the highest level of amateur competition and are composed of premier student athletes.  We are thrilled with this affiliation.”
