Brian Block and Jay Peery have been hired to join Montrail’s team. Block has been named as the independent sales rep for the Great Lakes territory; Peery will begin his duties as Montrail’s National Sales Manager in January.

Brian Block will take over for Peter Grimes who has relinquished his sales rep role in order to manage 45 Degrees, an outdoor retailer based in Stillwater, Minnesota. Block is an active trail runner, climber and alpinist perfectly suited to strengthen Montrail’s leadership position in technical outdoor footwear. Block and his associates also represent Marmot and Granger’s.

Jay Peery will join the Montrail staff in Seattle to further sales and service to specialty retailers in the outdoor, running, and shoe markets. Peery’s broad experience — as a store manager for Adventure 16, web manager for Mountain Gear and, most recently, as a sales representative in California and Arizona for Montrail and other brands — will bolster Montrail’s sales department. Specifically, Peery will be charged with coordinating sales initiatives for the company’s trail running, hiking, climbing, and après sport footwear categories. He will work closely with Montrail president Scott Tucker, who has been managing sales since 1999.
