On the opening day of ISPO, Blizzard announced that IQ-Sport GmbH will acquire 100% of BLIZZARD from the brand’s parent company, Raiffeisenverband Salzburg (RVS). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close on April 1.

IQ-Sport is jointly owned by The Stöckl-Group, an Austrian woodworking company, and Karl Hofstätter. The Stöckl-Group is the 2/3 majority shareholder, while Hofstätter owns 1/3 of the company and will become managing director of Blizzard. The new owners plan to focus on innovation out of the factory based in Mittersill, a small town in the Austrian Alps.

The sales and marketing management team will also be based in Mittersill.
