Black Diamond, a brand of Clarus Corporation, opened a strategic retail store in Anchorage, Alaska.
Doors opened on March 24, and the space is located in an approximately 1,400 square foot location near the statue of Balto, where the Iditarod starts. The address is: 400 West 4th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska.
“Alaska has been long associated with Black Diamond, and Anchorage houses a vibrant community of outdoor enthusiasts that identify strongly with the brand,” said Clarus President John Walbrecht. “So it is a natural fit to build a Black Diamond retail presence to further connect with our consumer in this truly ‘last frontier’ market.”
The store will be managed by Chris Marrano, who has extensive experience in retail management for other outdoor stores. An Anchorage resident for three years, Chris is an avid skier and mountaineer, and also has been a Black Diamond customer and supporter for many years.
The Anchorage location marks Black Diamond’s second retail store behind Salt Lake City. An official grand opening is slated for early April.
