Black Diamond Equipment promoted Brian Mecham to vice president of North American wholesale as part of a broader reshuffling of its top sales executives. The company also named new reps for its Midwest and Pacific Northwest territories.

Mechams experience spans a career that began as a manager of the Black Diamond retail store in 1994, to international sales director for climbing brands Pusher/Cordless/S7 from 2001-2002. From 2003-2011 Mecham worked at Patagonia, where he began as a sales representative and ascended to the role of Western regional sales manager. For the past 18 months, Mecham has managed Black Diamonds top line revenue and its sales force in North America as North American director of wholesale.

When we committed to launching an apparel program three years ago, we knew we were seeking to do something that had never been done in the outdoor space: to build, nurture, and grow a global apparel business within an existing $130 million technical equipment brand, said Ryan Gellert, brand president of Black Diamond Equipment. The realignment and strengthening of our sales structure is an example of our commitment to continue to fortify Black Diamond as the premier provider of innovative equipment for mountain activities plus become one of the top technical apparel players in the global outdoor space.

Bill Sinoff, Black Diamonds apparel line sales manager, will move into Mechams former role as North American director of wholesale. In the newly created position of global go-to-market director, Chris Grover will work closely with both Mecham and Sinoff, driving global go-to-market strategies with BD product, sales and marketing teams. As a lifelong climber and 20-year Black Diamond sales and marketing veteran, Grover is ideally suited to align product, sales and marketing strategies internationally.

Black Diamond also announces its partnership with the Bodhi Agency and Egan & Associates, LLC.

We are excited to welcome both the Bodhi Agency and Egan and Associates into the BD family, states Mecham. With their combined experience in the specialty outdoor market, they bring a wealth of business acumen and strong dealer relationships to Black Diamond. We now have the resources to scale up the level of service we provide the dealers in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest.

The Bodhi Agency, based in Batavia, IL, will service the Great Lakes and Midwest Territories, while Egan & Associates of Fall City, WA, will handle the new Black Diamond apparel line in the Pacific Northwest. Black Diamond Equipments climb, ski and mountain product lines will continue to be represented in the Pacific Northwest by Alan Adams and Eddie Whittemore
