Black Diamond Equipment Ltd., a global leader in the climbing and freeride ski markets, announced the amicable end of their formal partnership with Beal Ropes (FRA) in June 2008. The termination of this partnership is due to market factors, the changing retail environment and is viewed by both parties as a necessary and logical step.
“The Beal line has been an integral part of Black Diamond over the years and we have enjoyed a strong relationship with them, ” explains Chris Grover, VP of Sales and Marketing. “That said, changes in the market dictate ongoing business decisions and joint evaluation of our work together led to the decision for Beal to work toward a direct sales platform in the future.”
Grover continues, “We have great respect for Michel Beal and his products and BD will help facilitate a smooth transition toward a direct model with Beal warehousing product in North America and interfacing with key retailers moving forward.”
Black Diamond has been the North American distributor of Beal Ropes for twenty five years with Beal having space within the Black Diamond booth at the OR tradeshows. At the coming OR show, Beal will have their own booth so those interested in Beal products should look for them.
