Bergans USA LLC has hired Dan Ducey to represent the brand in Southern California, Southern Nevada, and Arizona.

Since opening its U.S. subsidiary in Longmont, CO in 2012, Bergans has steadily added accounts, terrirotires and expanded services to its existing dealers. Ducey's role will be to build on the momentum of other dealers and national reps to develop new relationships for the brand.

“Dan is a great addition to the Bergans family,” said Keith Patterson, Bergans USA's vice-president of sales and marketing. “The West Coast is an essential part of our sales strategy for the U.S. and Dan's experience, relationships, and judgment is paramount to our success.”

Ducey's experience was gained through working as an independent sales representative, technical rep, and store manager, and a lifetime of family outings. Ducey's wealth of rep expertise comes from lines such as his current brands LEKI poles and Metolius Climbing and past work with Deuter packs, Nemo Equipment, Lowepro, Lowe Alpine, Source, Trango and Sterling Rope. He also gained his service and support knowledge as a tech rep for JanSport and his management skills with Sport Chalet.

Ducey is one of the lucky ones to grow up in Northern California where he came to know Yosemite's high country, skied at Lake Tahoe, fished the Klamath River for Steelhead and climbed in Toulumne Meadows. Surfing Northern and Southern California have also been, and currently are, at the top of his recreation priority list.

“Bergans is a high-end quality heritage brand with enormous potential in the South West. It offers function, style and precision crafting, all of which South West consumers are keen to. I have high expectations for this year.”

To date Bergans USA has the following representation in independent reps: Bob Kirkup (Eastern Canada), Melanie Whittall (Western Canada), Terry Mullins (Upper Midwest), Loretta Sutter (Northeast), Kurt Watkins (Pacific Northwest), and Ryan Raymond (Rocky Mountains).
