Dagger kayaks, a division of WaterMark, announced it is
leaving the canoe business to focus solely on kayak production. The decision is effective immediately. Bell Canoe Works, of Zimmerman MN, struck a two-part deal with WaterMark that will help fill the void for Dagger canoe
customers.

Bell Canoe is licensed to mold the Ocoee, Dagger’s best selling whitewater
canoe. The design is beloved by scores of whitewater canoeists who
appreciate its carving, surfing, and performance characteristics. The 11’2″
powerhouse design is a perennially-proven performer that needs no
introduction in whitewater canoe circles. The Ocoee will be available for
Spring delivery to retailers. Bell will not produce any other Dagger canoe
models.

Bell Canoe Works will also assume all warranty and support service for
existing Dagger canoe product. Dagger warranty claims will be honored per
the original Dagger canoe warranty program. Customers can expect the same
exemplary service from Bell that was typified by Dagger. The arrangement
will guarantee seamless support for consumers and will also provide
comparable model recommendations for customers shopping for a discontinued
Dagger.

“Bell Canoe Works is one of the most respected brands in the canoe industry,
ensuring that Dagger’s canoe devotees will receive excellent service,”
stated Mark Pate, Vice President of Marketing for WaterMark.

There has been a longstanding spirit of cooperation between Bell and Dagger
that goes back to the early days of both companies. Ted Bell, President of
Bell Canoe Works, compares the cooperative spirit to a friendship born of
mutual respect. “It is an honor that Joe (Pulliam) approached us to assume
this role. We plan to treat Dagger’s former customers as our own,” commented
Bell.
