David Beckham, adidas’ top sponsored soccer athlete, is jumping across the Atlantic to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy MLS team. The deal that brought Beckham to the U.S. is reportedly worth over $250 million in salary, sponsorships, and endorsements plus a percentage of the club’s profits. It has been called the largest single athlete deal in sports history.

With Beckham coming to the U.S., adidas will immediately have a much larger presence on the pitch, with predictions of sold-out Galaxy games coming from nearly every corner of the U.S. soccer market.
