Bearpaw Footwear announced a new agreement with The League to Save Lake Tahoe. The League is Tahoe's oldest and largest nonprofit, environmental, advocacy organization dedicated to maintaining and improving water quality and clarity for the preservation of a pristine Lake Tahoe for future generations.

Bearpaw Footwear has committed to making a donation, as well as dedicating a portion of the profits from their new flip-flop collection for 2012, to The League. The new partnership will be highlighted through displays at Bearpaw retail locations, as well as through hangtags on the flip-flops themselves.

The company has a strong connection to the Lake Tahoe community, designing their collections to fit the lifestyle of consumers who enjoy the area's outdoor activities. Bearpaw CEO Tom Romeo also has a personal connection to cause, having spent many family vacations at the Lake during his childhood.

“Preserving Lake Tahoe is very personal to me,” said Romeo. “I used to vacation at Lake Tahoe growing up, and I want my family to be able to enjoy the lake the same way I was able to as a child on our vacations there today and in the future, in its full clean beauty. The only way to prevent the lake from being damaged by pollution and industrialization is to take action, and I am proud that our company can play a role in its preservation.”

“There is nothing more rewarding for us than being able to spread the joy of experiencing Lake Tahoe in its natural, pristine beauty to future generations,” said Michael Rubovits, director of finance and administration for The League to Save Lake Tahoe. “Through donations from companies like Bearpaw Footwear and more people committing to keeping the Lake clean, we are able to achieve this.”
