The Discovery Channel has halted production of ‘Man vs. Wild' and ended its relationship with the show's host and outdoor adventure star Bear Grylls due to a contractual dispute.

“Due to a continuing contractual dispute with Bear Grylls, Discovery has terminated all current productions with him,” Discovery said in a statement quoted by several media outlets.
The network and star collaborated on six seasons of the highly rated show during which he was is dropped into variety of remote areas with a camera crew to simulate what it would take to survive in the wilderness.

The news comes after Grylls, 36, made a big splash at the SHOT and Outdoor Retailer Winter Marketplace, where he promoted a new apparel line he developed with the company Craghoppers.
