Beachbody Performance, a Santa Monica, CA-based provider of in-home and gym-based fitness programs and nutrition, launched a nationwide initiative to help people realize their goal of becoming an Ironman.

Beachbody Performance is seeking one or more individuals to sponsor and help prepare and train for an Ironman event in 2017 through its Make Me An Ironman initiative. Sponsorship includes an entry to an Ironman-owned race and professional coaching for 10 months, as well as equipment and sports nutrition supplements during the training period.

The initiative has five co-sponsors: Quintana Roo will provide PRthree racing bikes, Roka will supply wetsuits, Zoot Sports will contribute custom race kits and training kits, Rudy Project will donate helmets and Hoka One One will furnish running shoes to each winner.

Beachbody’s PerformanceTM line recently became the Official Sports Nutrition Supplement of the Ironman North American series.

Carola Ross, Ironman’s chief sales officer, said, “Beachbody’s campaign for Make Me An Ironman is a fantastic one…[E]ven the iconic Ironman race of 140.6 miles is achievable to a wide range of people, with the right application of dedication and a little bit of help.”

The submission process involves going to Beachbody Performance’s Facebook page and submitting an application. Entrants do not need any prior triathlon or endurance experience. If selected, participants will be required to provide a letter to Beachbody from a doctor clearing them for participation in the grueling 140.6-mile race

Jon Congdon, Beachbody co-founder, president and CMO, said, “Ironman presents a global platform for the pursuit of not only fitness, but also life-changing accomplishment. Beachbody, through its fitness and nutrition products, has a long history of helping people reach their goals of transforming their bodies, their fitness levels and ultimately their health.”
