Black Diamond Equipment Ltd. announced the hiring of Jack Tackle and Kim Miller as Climbing Hardware Sales Representatives for the Rocky Mountain Territory.
“Like the legend of the Patagonian califate plant that says those who eat it are destined to return, we see this as a homecoming of sorts,” states Peter Metcalf, Black Diamond CEO. “Both Jack and Kim have been an intimate part of our working history. We share many of the same core values and it is a great opportunity for both parties in a key sector of the country,” Metcalf continues.
Tackle worked as a sales representative for Black Diamond Equipment starting in 1988 and moved on to rep for Patagonia in 1991. Currently living in the Tetons, Tackle has a diverse resume that combines business successes with a history of impeccable alpine ascents. Miller worked the Rockies as the Black Diamond rep throughout the 1990s and later in house for Black Diamond in Salt Lake City through mid 2003. In the mountains, Miller partnered with Tackle climbing in Alaska in 1992 for an attempt on the Elevator Shaft on Mount Johnson.
Chris Grover, Black Diamond National Sales Manager elaborates, “For sure, the territory – Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico – is the heartland of the outdoor specialty retailer. It is a critical area for Black Diamond and we sought to have the most bullet proof, experienced yet open minded thinkers for this position.” Grover adds “The best part of Black Diamond, for me, is the people who I stand shoulder to shoulder with daily. Tackle and Miller may not be youngsters but they are super solid, dependable colleagues with energy, creativity, a sense of humor and renewable awe.”
