Bass Pro Shops will host a grand opening of its new retail store in Tyler, TX, with an Evening for Cnservation, on Wednesday, April 16.
The new 77-000-square foot store on Market Square Boulevard near the Village at Cumberland Park is located in south Tyler, TX; this is the 17th Bass Pro Shops store in the state.
Johnny Morris, noted angler and conservationist, started Bass Pro Shops in 1972 in Springfield, MO, in an 8-square-foot space in his father’s liquor store. That was the company’s only location for its first 13 years. Today, millions of outdoorsmen shop at Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s locations nationwide and in Canada. The retailer has garnered a reputation as North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company.
Grand opening night’s “Evening for Conservation,” a tradition started by Morris many years ago, unites sportsmen to support local conservation organizations. Every dollar spent during the Evening for Conservation, 20 percent (on most items) will be donated to local conservation organizations.
Following the outdoor star-studded grand opening program and ribbon cutting, Bass Pro Shops will invite guests and customers to enter the Tyler store for the first public look inside as it officially opens for business.
