Bass Pro Shops reported plans to open three stores in Spring, TX; Niles, OH; and Clifton Park, NY.
In Texas, the 125,000-square-foot store, to be located on Interstate 45, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024, it is the 16th location in the state and the fourth in the greater Houston area.
“Our newest Bass Pro Shops in Spring strengthens our relationship with sportsmen and women across the great state of Texas. For more than 50 years, we have been committed to conservation and to helping families spend time together outdoors,” said Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops. “This location not only showcases that commitment but outfits hunters, anglers and families for all of the great fishing, hunting and outdoor activities that east Texas has to offer.”
The Niles store is the seventh location in Ohio and is expected to open in the second half of 2023. The 63,000-square-foot space, located in Howland Commons in the Eastwood Mall, will serve customers in Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
The 70,000-square-foot store in Clifton Park will serve Albany and the Adirondacks region in New York and is the fourth location in the state. Sitting within the southern end of the Adirondacks, Clifton Park is a thoroughfare from New York City to Montreal and lies en route to the region’s six million acres of mountains, lakes and springs.
“The Adirondacks have played a huge role in our nation’s sporting heritage and our country’s world-leading history of conservation. We are honored to open our newest Bass Pro Shops in Clifton Park,” said Morris. “This location will not only pay tribute to the region’s past but will proudly outfit the sportsmen, women and families who continue to enjoy the Adirondacks today.”
Bass Pro had slowed expansion following the acquisition of Bass Pro in 2017 and stemming from the pandemic. Its most recent store opening was in Morgantown, WV, in November 2021. The company also closed Cabela’s stores in Fort Oglethorpe, GA and Bristol, VA, in 2021. Other stores scheduled to open include Sunset Hills in the St. Louis area in spring 2023 and Grand Prairie, TX in spring 2023.
Bass Pro Shops operates about 200 stores.
