Ballogy Inc., the Austin-based software company changing the way youth and amateur athletes train and develop for their sports, named longtime National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) executive James (Jim) Isch, Ph.D. chairman of the Ballogy advisory board.

“Jim has devoted his career to serving young athletes and we are delighted to welcome him to the team during a time of exciting growth for our company,” said Todd Young, founder and CEO of Ballogy. “Jim brings an incomparable wealth of experience from his almost forty years in higher education and intercollegiate athletics. I look forward to working closely with him as we build out our advisory board and scale our business.”

Isch held executive level positions at NCAA for more than 16 years before retiring in 2014. As chief operating officer, Isch was responsible the management of communications, education, finance, health and safety, human resources, membership services, regulatory services, and technology. He also served as interim president following the passing of NCAA President Myles Brand in 2009.

Prior to joining NCAA, Isch was vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville from 1994 to 1998. He was also the vice president for administration at Montana State University Bozeman from 1986 to 1994. Additionally, he served at Kansas State University, where he was assistant vice president for facilities planning and budget, budget director and assistant budget officer/accounting instructor.

Isch earned his undergraduate degree and a doctor of philosophy degree from Kansas State and his master’s from Boston University. He is also a veteran of the United States Army.
