Balanced Body, best known for its Pilates equipment and education materials, announced the launch of its Integrated Movement Specialist (IMS) Certificate program for movement professionals including instructors, trainers and coaches.

The IMS certificate is a three-part course comprised of anatomy, movement principles and movement programming. The curriculum trains fitness professionals in effective and efficient movement analysis and expands their programming skills.

“Our IMS candidates learn how to maximize client training by recognizing foundational movements, employing quality standards and applying to client progression,” said Chanin Cook, director of marketing, Balanced Body. “In addition, IMS graduates also have a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy behind movement, making them a more valuable expert resource for both clients and club employers.”

“The IMS program provides a deep dive into Balanced Body’s signature hands-on Anatomy in Three Dimensions™ for invaluable knowledge on physiological baseline, including why and how the body works,” said Helen Vanderburg, BPE, founder of Heavens Fitness Studio, author of Fusion Workouts and fitness education leader for Balanced Body. “We designed the IMS certificate program to provide movement pros with a much more informed approach to clients through training, body awareness, and proper movement patterns.”

The IMS coursework is offered at Balanced Body Authorized Training Centers and Pilates On Tour events as well as Continuing Education Conferences including IDEA Personal Trainer Institute, ACSM Health & Fitness Summit, NASM/AFAA Optima Conference, and IDEA World.
