Bakers Footwear Group Inc. said its same-store sales rose 3.1% in May. Overall for the four-week period ended May 30 rose slightly to $15.4 million from $15.1 million during the same period a year ago.

Bakers said the increase reflects “solid regular price selling” of its open-toe footwear.

The company said it expects the increase in same-store sales to continue through the summer, mainly due to continued sales of open-toe shoes.
