Backcountry.com 2006 sales increased 56% to $82 million from $52 million in 2005. The company recorded its busiest day on December 11, one week after Cyber Monday when the company shipped nearly 12,000 orders. During the year, the Backcountry.com buying team added 67 new brands to their online merchandise assortment including Of The Earth, Quiksilver, Roxy and XSocks. The company now stocks nearly 25,000 products and 88,000 SKUs.

Backcountry.com has several new business development plans underway, including a new micro-site, dubbed whiskeymilitia.com. The company is currently keeping the nature of the site a secret. In addition, Backcountry.com is putting its in-house photography studio to work and launching a product photo service for PR agencies and manufacturers.
