Aventura Clothing and 200 of its closest friends raised enough money for the Salt Lake City Food Bank to supply 6,300 meals during an event at the company's Outdoor Retailer booth earlier this month.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary, Aventura hosted a happy hour at the 2015 Summer Outdoor Retailer to raise money for the Salt Lake City Food Bank. About 200 people attended.

Aventura is a family-owned women’s casual lifestyle clothing company based outside of Reno, Nevada, and the sister company to 50-year old outdoor lifestyle brand, Sportif, and two-year old men’s urban outdoors clothing company, Ecōths. With a history of and dedication to sustainability and charitable initiatives, Aventura wanted to find a way to give back to the local Salt Lake City community that so graciously supports the outdoor industry twice a year. For their anniversary celebration on Day 2 of the Outdoor Retailer show, Aventura hosted a happy hour and raised $1800 for Salt Lake City’s local food bank.

“Every Outdoor Retailer, as attendees make their way to and from the Salt Palace for business and off to elaborate dinners with clientele in the evenings, they pass many homeless people asking for food and money donations,” states Tom Williamson. “As part of our anniversary celebration, we wanted to do something to make a difference for this community by raising awareness and money to help those in need get a healthy, warm meal.”
