Avalanche, an active outdoor apparel company headquartered in Salem, MA, expanded its licensing activity to include kids activewear, sportswear and outerwear, as well as home goods, camping accessories, outdoor electronic accessories, pet accessories and socks.
The licensing business, which began introducing new products in 2015, was initiated to build upon the Avalanche brand and trademarks.
Pacific Trading LLC, based in New York City, will debut its first Avalanche line of children’s outerwear for fall 2017. The jackets, shells and vests will be offered in toddler to pre-teen sizes and reflect popular Avalanche men’s and women’s apparel designs. Kidz Concepts, another children’s wear licensee partner, will launch its first line of Avalanche licensed activewear and sportswear for kids in fall 2017.
“The response to licensing opportunities has been incredible – both from interest around our outdoor active brand and our licensees’ innovation in product development,” said Daniel Petrucci, managing director, Avalanche Licensing LLC. “What is most important to us is maintaining the integrity of the brand through quality, design and performance. It’s a very hands-on process, working closely with our licensing partners to always exceed expectations of the Avalanche consumer.”
Argento SC is currently selling lines of Avalanche pet, camping and electronic accessories, categories that Avalanche sees as a natural extension of its outdoor active brand. The tech accessories line includes water-resistant Bluetooth speakers and earbuds and power banks, while the camping accessories line includes LED lanterns and head lamps, hammocks and hydration packs. The Avalanche pet accessories line includes leashes, collars, harnesses and toys. Argento’s Avalanche line is being sold at Macy’s and Sierra Trading Post, among other retailers.
“We were impressed by Avalanche’s product design, value and loyal customer base and knew that our team would be able to leverage that brand momentum and develop upon its design style heritage to produce the kind of well-built products its existing customers expect and make them accessible in more categories,” said Steven Scaba, vice president at Argento SC.
Avalanche’s home goods licensing partner Geneva Home Fashion has designed more than 20 home products, including blankets and sheet sets for fall 2017. Planet Socks has been a partner since 2015, designing and distributing socks for kids and adults under the Avalanche brand name, and expects sales growth beginning in fall/winter 2016.
Avalanche has new licenses under negotiation and plans to introduce these new partners and categories in 2017. The company is actively seeking licensees for footwear, bags and backpacks.
