Authentic Brands Group (Authentic) has made the next move to rebuild its licensee base for its former Boardriders brands after the bankruptcy of former partner Liberated Brands.

Authentic has inked a partnership deal with Velocity Global Brands (Velocity) for Quiksilver women’s apparel. Through the agreement, Velocity reportedly takes on the design, manufacturing and distribution of women’s across the U.S. and Canada for the lifestyle brand.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Authentic to bring the Quiksilver women’s line back to life,” said Chris Laurita, co-CEO of Velocity Global Brands. “Through this launch, we will honor Quiksilver’s rich legacy while looking ahead. We will blend surf culture with refined sophistication, bringing the best of the past and future together.”

The apparel line will feature versatile pieces “inspired by nature, adventure and the free spirit.” Products will include boardshorts, dresses, swimwear, t-shirts, outerwear, woven tops, denim, knitwear, fleece and sweaters.

“Velocity has proven time and again its talent for translating brand vision into standout products,” said David Brooks, EVP of Action & Outdoor Sports, Lifestyle at Authentic Brands Group. “We’re eager to work together to drive growth and meet our increasing consumer demand for the Quiksilver brand.”

Quiksilver women’s will be available through select retailers beginning in Spring 2025.

The owner and licensor of over 500 global brands also inked a partnership for Volcom socks with Majesty Brands, a manufacturing and wholesale distributor of socks, sleepwear and intimates.

“Through the agreement, Majesty Brands will take on the manufacturing, wholesale and distribution for Volcom women’s, men’s and kid’s socks across the U.S. and Canada, Authentic said in a media release.

Hay-Won Byun, VP of Action & Outdoor Sports, Lifestyle, Authentic Brand Group, said, “Majesty’s proven expertise in the sock industry, combined with Authentic’s successful track record of brand development, prepares Volcom for continued success through enhanced category awareness.

The company said Majesty Brands’ portfolio and robust distribution network are poised to bring the sock category to major retailers across the U.S. and Canada.

“We are proud to partner with Authentic to bring the iconic Volcom brand to our robust distribution platform, said Majesty Brands CEO Jack Safdeye. “This partnership opens up exciting opportunities for Majesty Brands to expand into the active lifestyle space, and our team’s creativity and expertise will be key to its success.

Volcom’s new sock collection will be available in Fall 2025 and sold at select retailers and specialty shops.
